The East Asian Business Forum on Environmental Protection opened in Hanoi on Wednesday, drawing participation of more than 200 Vietnamese and foreign managers, scientists and businessmen, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The forum was held on the sideline of the First East Asian Environmental Ministers' Meeting, which is scheduled to open on Thursday.
The participants presented 28 reports on various topics such as pollution treatment, green industries, climate change and the use of environment-friendly technology.
They also discussed what role companies could play in environmental protection.
The forum will submit a general report to the East Asian Environmental Ministers' Meeting, affirming businesses' commitment to strive for sustainable development in the region.
